Funeral services for Bettie L. Hearon Piper, 85 of Whitehouse, will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Sherman Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Bettie Piper passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Whitehouse. She was born November 1, 1931 in Smith County Texas to Andrew and Mary Waller Hearon. Bettie was a lifetime resident of East Texas, and worked as a sales clerk with JC Penney for 10 years and Gibson's for 13 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mary Hearon.
Survivors include her longtime companion, John Lester of Whitehouse; sons, Michael Piper & wife Melona of Tyler, Jerry Piper of Tyler, and Ralph Piper & wife Angela of Bryan, Texas; 7 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm
