Funeral services for Evelyn Ruth Wornick George, 87, of Troup, will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Larry Craig will be officiating the service under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Evelyn George passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Tyler. She was born June 7, 1929 in Sandia, Texas to Edward Wornick and Hiley Spain Wornick. Evelyn was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Troup. She enjoyed spending time cooking and working in the yard. Evelyn loved her little dogs and taking the time to care for other animals as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Lacy George, daughter Carol Sue Mayfield, son Donald Gordan Sadler, and brother Prentiss Wornick.
Survivors include her three sons; a stepson; an aunt; a sister in law; a granddaughter; six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Cottle Funeral Home, Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 6-8pm.
