Longtime Shawnee resident Louise Boatman, 80, died Friday, Dec. 29, at a local hospital hospital.

Louise was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Durant to Claude and ArDella Jackson. She grew up in the Wewoka area and attended Butner schools.

Louise married Addison Boatman. She was a homemaker, moving to Shawnee when she was 29 years old. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sons and a grandson.

Survivors include her son, James Boatman of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Claudine and Larry Whittet of Shawnee; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
