ANNA RUTH HORNBACK

Richland, IN - Anna Ruth (Lloyd) Hornback passed away June 11, 2013. She was born November 7, 1921 to Damon E. and Helen B. Lloyd in Richland, Indiana.
She graduated from Luce Township schools, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Family Science from Indiana State University. Anna Ruth also completed her Masters of Education at Northern Illinois University.
Anna Ruth married Edgar C. Hornback while he was serving in World War II and they would raise three children Sally, Curtis and Sara. She had a successful teaching career spanning several decades, teaching home economics, biology and music. She also managed the school lunch program and was active in many 4-H programs.
Anna Ruth was an active community volunteer and rose to the position of Worthy Matron in the Libertyville, Ill. chapter of Eastern Star. She was always a teacher and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of nature with all who would listen.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Lloyd; husband, Edgar Hornback; daughter, Sara J. Bachmann; her parents, Damon E. Lloyd and Helen Dawson Lloyd.
She will be remembered by her children Sally Allen and her husband, Kevin of Noblesville, IN; Curtis Hornback and his wife, Sandy, of Durant, OK; Son-in-law Kris Bachmann, Spencerville, IN; Granddaughter Melissa (Shawn) Karmil of Everett, WA and great-granddaughters Lily and Calliope Jones; Grandson Jake Hornback (Emily Richardson) of Durant, OK; Grandson Bronson Bachmann, Spencerville, IN. She will also be missed by friends in many states.
Services are 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial is in Hackleman Cemetery in Chrisney, Indiana.
Visitation is from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the funeral home. The Order of the Eastern Star will have a service at 11 A.M. Wednesday.
