RICHARD "DICK" J. ADERHOLT , 86, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Parkview
Regional Medical Center. Born in Louisville, Ohio, Dick was the son of the late
George and Mary Catherine Aderholt . Dick was a Korean War Marine veteran. He worked
with Magnavox for 27 years, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of Salem
United Church of Christ, being involved in their choir, and serving as a trustee. He
was a volunteer at the Embassy Theater from 1974 to 2009, along with volunteering
for Habitat for Humanity. Dick was an avid woodworker, from building his first house
to making small ornaments. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time
with his family. Surviving are his daughters, Cindy (Doug) Schroeder, Gloria (Jim)
Baals, Susan (Michael) Newville, all of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; and sister, LaVera Guillan of Texas. Dick was preceded in death
by his wife, Carol L. Aderholt ; sisters, Marilyn McCallin, Donna Fosdick, and Lois
Stonier. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood
Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Larry
Holderbaum officiating. Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at the
funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
