Delores Greve, 87, of Atwood, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Zion United Church of Christ, rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, rural Arthur. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is entrusted with the arrangements.
Delores was born November 27, 1929 – when the snow was fence high-on her parent’s farm south of Garrett, IL. Delores was the daughter of George and Almeda Hansen Ernst.
Delores graduated from Arthur High School in 1947 and attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. After working a year at the Arthur High School, Delores became a receptionist for Progress Industries, where she worked many, many years.
A lifelong member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Delores was currently President of the Women’s Fellowship and had faithfully served in other capacities over the years. Being a giving person and lover of people, Delores visited the Arthur Nursing Home and Eberhardt Village regularly.
Delores married Paul Greve on October 30, 1982. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2006.
Surviving nieces and nephews are Dale Downs, Arnold Downs, Sharon (Dick) Canull, Joe (Pat) Smith, Cheryl Weller and Bobby (Pam) Weller.
Also surviving are many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and nephew: Ronald Greve
