Antje Schoon was born in Strackholt, East Friesia, Germany, on the 28th of February, 1843. At the place of her birth she was baptized and confirmed. In the spring of 1865 the deceased came to this country, settling at Golden, Adams County, Illinois. She entered into holy matrimony with Lammert Baumann in July of the same year. Four years later the family moved to Nebraska Township, Livingston County, where the deceased spent the remaining years of her life. Since 1900 she had made her home in Flanagan.
Her husband preceded her in death on the 15th of January, 1909.
The following children survive; Mrs. H. H. Rustman, Frank Baumann, Lammert Baumann, Eilert Baumann, Mrs. Ehme Gronewald, Mrs. Will Young of Eagle Grove, Ia. Also one step-brother, John Wichman of Basco, Ill.; two step-sisters, Mrs. John Hinrichs, and Mrs. F. Folkerts, of Basco, and one step-daughter, Mrs. R. Duis of Little Rock, IA., and 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Baumann was taken seriously ill in March and by the middle of April it seemed as though she would recover. However, on the 21st of last month complications set in which brought about her death,
