John Thomas Hundley, of Roanoke county, died, Tuesday May 19, 1992, in a local hospital. Mr. Hundley was born November 3, 1908, the son of the late John William and Ella Aliff Hundley. He was a retired farmer and life long member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren. For the past 14 years Mr. Hundley had lived in the home of his niece, Mrs. Marie Fralin Saul and her husband, Col. (retired) Gordon E. Saul. Mr. Hundley served in the United States Army during World War II as a member of Company E. 360th Engineer Regiment and participated in the Northern France Rhineland Campaign. In addition to Mrs. Saul, Mr. Hundley is survived by six nephews; Ralph Metz, Bent Mountain; John T. Hundley, Daleville; Leon Metz, Kenneth Reed, James Linwood Fralin, all of Salem; Clifton Ray Fralin, Roanoke County; six nieces, Margaret H. Mitchell, Richmond, Helen H. Lockridge, Covington, Edna M. Lacklen, Las Vegas, Nev., Julia F. Manning, Salem, Dora F. Pendleton, Bassett and Peggy R. Lucado, Salem. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at Poages Mill Church of the Brethren. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 1992 at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Maurice E. Wright, officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's South Chapel.
