Fred Barcroft, age 85, passed away November 27, 2016. He was born on July 3, 1931 to Bennie and Susie Barcroft in Friendship, TN. He served in the Air Force from 1950 - 1954 and was Honorably discharged as an Airman First Class with a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

He married his wife, Sarah, of 64 years on August 21, 1952.

Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who gave of himself to his family and friends freely without any expectations.

Fred served his country in the military, worked in the Air Force Reserves in Memphis TN as a flight engineer for 10 years, worked for civil service at the Corpus Christi Army Depot for over 30 years and then for military contractors (Dyncorp and Saic) for another 10 years. He was a supervisor on helicopter repair and specialized in aircraft crash investigations.

Fred was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and loved outdoor activities. He loved to share all his experiences with his Friends and Family.

Fred is preceded in death by son, Randy Barcroft; grandson, Noah Barcroft; brother, Ben Barcroft; sister, Rebecca Parker.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, 4357 Ocean Drive. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Brighton Park Baptist Church, 3418 Airline Road. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
