IN LOVING MEMORY
Miss Pearl Tannehill died at her home near Plevna, April 27, 1897, of consumption, aged 21 years, 4 months and 27 days. The deceased was a member of the Christian church, having confessed her faith in Christ at the age of 12 years, through the ministry of Elder J. T. Welch just at the time of framing her life for a grand and noble christian work as she felt her heart permeated with a Savior's love of which, she continued to drink deep from the fountain of His great and loving heart, until God in his wise domain called her home to that city beyond the vision of the living. During her sickness, she bore her suffering with heroic pride concious of the fact that her mission on earth would soon be filled and her mortal spirit would sleep in the windowless tomb. 'Twas near the noon hour of the morning of the 27th, while the bright rays of sunshine were streaming through the window to brighten the sad scene there to be witnessed, the spirit of Pearl quietly took its flight and she passed away. She died as she had lived, calmly, peacefully and without a struggle. She requested Elder J. H. Bryan to preach her funeral. He spoke beautiful words of comfort and consolation to those that are near to her, who are left weeping on the shores of time.
