James W. Ritchie, 81, left his earthly home on November 26, 2016 in his chair on his front porch. He was born on July 16, 1935 in Big Spring, Ky. He was a veteran and a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Cora Alexander Ritchie, two brothers, David and Russell Ritchie, a sister, Eva Mae(Kenneth) Lynch, and his father-in-law, Willard Smallwood. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma Smallwood Ritchie, two sons: Keith(Roseanna) Ritchie of Georgetown and Timmy(Sandy) Ritchie of Lawrenceburg, two daughters: Dana(Kevin) Thomas and Madonna Bruce, both of Elizabethtown, nine grandchildren: Alan(Jasmine) Ritchie, David Ritchie, Chris(Jeannie) Ritchie, Chad Ritchie, Tina(Bradley) Thomas, Tiffany Bruce Roger, Ben, Claire, and Drew Thomas, seven great grandchildren: Louden and Kaitlyn Ritchie, Colton and Emma Ritchie, Case and Hadley Thomas, and Leeland Rogers, one sister: Ruby Lynch of Louisville, one sister-in-law: Evelyn Ritchie, and his much loved neices and nephews: Steven, Matthew(Ashley), Mason, Corey, McCall, Grayson, Randy, and Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 2 PM at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday November 29, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home from 4 PM to 8 PM, and will continue after 9 AM Wednesday until service time.
