TEXT OF OBITUARY: (July 06, 1939)
MRS. J.B. ALVERSON
Mrs. Margaret L. Alverson, 83, wife of the late John B. Alverson, died at her residence at Campobello, route 1, yesterday after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Walnut Hill Baptist church by the Rev. Ed. Harrison, her pastor, and the Rev. Walter Harrison and Dr. T.W. Yates. Interment will be in the New Prospect cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Oren L. Herring, Don Turner, Charley Mabry, Marvin Wall, Arthur Jackson and Elford Gosnell.
Mrs. Alverson was the daughter of the late Andrew McDowell and Harriet Lyles McDowell.
Survivors include three sons, Sidney Alverson of Charlotte, N.C., J. Earle Alverson of Campobello, route 1, and H. Clyde Alverson of Landrum; a daughter, Miss Ella L. Alverson of Campobello, route 1; a sister, Mrs. Rosetta Walker of Landrum; and three grandchildren, Kyle W. Alverson of Campobello, route 1, and Virginia Alverson and M. Sidney Alverson, both of Charlotte. The body will be at the J.F. Floyd mortuary here until 10 o'clock this morning when it will be carried to her home.
