He was living in Va as early as 1766 when his child was baptized and 1768 when he purchased land.

BIRTH: Per church baptism records in NJ son of John and Elizabeth Berry.

MARRIAGE: not found in records but estimated to be about 1761-5.

DEED: David Berry and wife Mary of Rockingham Co sold to John Berry of same county for 135 acres on Muddy Creek for 10 shillings dated Oct. 13, 1794 witnesses M. Gambill, H.J. Gambill, John Way, A Wateman, Burnt Deed Book 00 p. 69-70.

DEATH: David died between 1794 (named on deed of sale in Oct. 1794) and before 1800 (not listed in the 1800 tax lists and 1839 deed of Levi May said land was sold by 1801.)

WILL: a will mentioned in surviving deeds but no longer exists at Rockingham Courthouse because of Sheridan burning the courthouse in the Civil War. Administrators were Joseph Baxter and John Herdman. His Executors sold his land in 1801 so David died before then. He also is not listed in 1800 census.

ESTATE: Joseph Baxter and John Herdman exec. of last will of David Berry Sr and David Berry Jr. see deed May 10 1839 Levi May and Sarah to John H. Miller land in Rockingham Co adj. to land of Arch Ralston, being equal of the tract of land belonging to John Miller deed, by deed of 1801, also part of said lands conveyed to John Miller Decd. It being part of the patent contract of 104 acres bearing date Nov 20 1776 containing 127 acres bounded as follows adj. Davison corner, line of Rodeffer, Arch Ralston corner, to George Chrisman and back to Davison corner.
