Services for Joy Davis Rogers, 83, of Tyler are scheduled for 2 pm Monday, November 28, 2016 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Brandon Holiski officiating.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
Joy went to be with her Lord on November 25, 2016 in Tyler.
She was born on June 4, 1933 in Van Zandt County to Aubrey and Gladys Ashley Davis.
Joy attended school in Martins Mill her first years then moved to Canton where she graduated in 1950 at the age of 16. She married her high school sweetheart, Goode Rogers of Canton on August 26, 1950. To this union was born Debra Kay in 1951 and Susan in 1954. "Moye's" (to which she was to all her family) greatest love was care of "Rog" (her husband) and children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and also seamstress making almost all her girls clothes while they were growing up. After moving to Tyler from Longview in 1979, she joined the East Texas Quilters Guild and made many beautiful quilts during this time with many given as donations to needy families. Joy was a loving wife; mother, grandmother, and she will be missed greatly.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Davis Bramblett; her "Gran" Alice Shinn Davis; and great grandson, Alex Bisetti.
Joy is survived by her loving husband 66 years Goode Rogers of Tyler; daughter, Debbie and Donny Elrod of Humble; daughter, Suzy and Bill Bisetti of Longview; grandsons, Colby Bisetti; Ryan and Brittany Bisetti; granddaughters, Brooke and Dale Jones; Brandi & Wesley Espitia; great grandchildren, Logan and Tate Bisetti; Raven and Adrien Espitia; and Ashlyn and Addison Jones.
