Cyrus Maynard and Lucretia Luce were married around 1768, Windham, Connecticut, the town where both had been born. They had three known children (possibly more), Eunice, Shubal, and Hannah, who were all born in Windham County, Connecticut.

Sometime in the late 1700s, the family moved to Rutland County, Vermont, where they were living in the 1800 census.

Shubal Maynard and his family are found living in Troy, Pennsylvania in the early 1800s. His father Cyrus, is not found in either Vermont or Pennsylvania after 1800.

It is surmised he died sometime shortly after the 1800 census was taken.
