- A GOOD WOMAN GONE -
Mrs. Mary Hall died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie Jeter, Penola, Caroline Co., on March 31st, in the 89th year of her age.
Her remains were brought to Stafford Co., and laid to rest in the old family burying ground at the home of her son, Mr. John Hall.
Mrs. Hall before her marriage, was a Miss Humphries. Her husband, Mr. Ben Hall, died many years ago. Mr. Powell Humphries is her only brother and was present at the funeral. Mrs. Hall leaves three children: Mr. John Hall, of Stafford; Mrs. Effie Jeter, of Caroline; and Mr. Ben Hall, of Spotsylvania, besides several grandchildren.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.W. Brooks, her former pastor.
Many were the relatives and friends present and beautiful were the floral offerings. Everyone loved her.
Mrs. Hall was a most excellent Christian woman, and long a member of Berea Baptist church. She was quiet, gentle and faithful in both her home and church. The promise of the Lord in the psalmist was fulfilled to her, "With long life will I satisfy thee and show thee my salvation". She was permitted to see her children and grandchildren walking in her steps and servants of Christ. She has gone to be with her Savior whom she loved and served so long. She was faithful unto death and now has the crown of life. "Mother, we will meet again." C.W.B. (Fredericksburg) The Daily Star - April 11, 1925.
