Ms. McBryde was born in Hoke County to the late Calvin Foster McBryde, Sr. and Mary Bell Clark McBryde. She is preceded in death by a sister Eloise Kinlaw and a brother, C.F. McBryde, Jr.
Ms. McBryde was a 1948 graduate The Women’s College of The University of North Carolina.
She worked for Senator Sam J. Ervin, Jr. for more than 20 years in Washington D.C. and remained his personal secretary in Morganton, NC during his retirement. She was a life-long member of the Pilot Club International and past Governor of the Pilot Club of North Carolina.
She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Cardwell of Madison, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.
