In Memory of Jack Durfee

Our beloved patriarch and hero father returned home to his Maker on November 25, 2016. Jack (John) Durfee began his journey on Earth on August 23, 1933 being born to Clealund and Alta Durfee. He is survived by his sister Kaye Warnke (John), and sister-in-law Annetta (Richard) Anderson whom he loves completely.

He married his eternal companion of 61 years, (Cuddles) Gaylie Ora Dixon Durfee on August 19, 1955 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. He has missed her dearly for the past four years and we are grateful for their joyful reunion. Dad was faithful through the end as he studied, prayed and enlightened those around him.

He gave service in the Air Force and through his many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Ward and Stake levels. Cherished memories include serving as an Ordinance Worker in the Jordan River and Mount Timpanogos Temples, serving a Member Locator Service Mission with his sweetheart, and making up silly songs he sang to his family.

Dad loves the Lord and loves his posterity. He is survived by his nine children and spouses, John Durfee (Lori), Deborah Lovelady (Alan), Patricia Miller (David), Kay Marie (Katie) Smith (Ben), Denise Buhler (Steve), Kathleen Blood (Todd), MaryLynn Quayson-Sackey (Alex), Jacquelyn Durfee, Sabrina Tettey (Godgreat), sixty-two grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren with a great-grandchild on its way. He leaves us with a great legacy of faith, testimony, charity and sense of humor. He is loved and admired by those he tirelessly taught and provided for.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the American Fork East LDS Stake Center Chapel, 825 East 500 North, American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the American Fork Cemetery.

A special thank you to all the medical staff, friends and neighbors that served our family this past year. We appreciate all your efforts in our behalf. We love you Dad.
