OBITUARY
Rex Barnes, 71, died suddenly in Forreston, Texas on November 7th with his loving family at his side.

Rex was born December 14, 1944 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Stewart and Olive Barnes. He was the baby of ten children. He graduated Southwestern Bible Institute in the fall of 1965. While attending Southwestern Bible Institute, he met and married the love of his life, Linda Jenean Sides on March 13, 1964. Together, they embarked on an adventure pastoring and ministering in churches throughout the state of Oklahoma. They raised six children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

Throughout his life, he pastored men and sheep, and took great pride in both of his farms. In addition to tending the land, they owned Tri-City Florist in Italy, Texas and City Florist in Waxahachie. He later retired from head of Maintenance of Avalon Public Schools.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Sides Barnes, four daughters, Brenda Barnes, Lisa (Ralph) Roath, Neasa Tisdale, and DaRexa (Daniel) Crowe, son Zylin Barnes, brother Mack Barnes, sisters Norma Tate and Dixie Blakley, grandchildren Rebecka Binion (Mohamed Sefraoui), Zoe, Elizabeth Binion, Breanna (Logan) McElroy, Tiffanie (Dustin) Keys, Stephanie Smith, Taylor Roath, Gabriella Smith, Marella Smith, Allyson Barnes, Emily Barnes, Terrance Tisdale, Victoria McCutchen, Savannah McCutchen, Asher Tisdale, Danessa Crowe (Miguel Flores), great-grandchildren Kayson Elijah Kildow, Kylee Dawn South, Ali Sefraoui, Jonah Potter, Sami Sefraoui, Meadowlark McElroy, Hudson Keys, Peyton Crowe, Lucas Perryman, Alana Lowry, Alarik Ariano, Jayden Hays, Adaline Flores.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Olive Barnes, sisters Goldie Dunn, Cinda Rice and Thelma Hanes, brothers Melvin Barnes and J.D. Barnes, son, Rex (Rexy) Barnes, Jr., granddaughter Rexsanne Marie Barnes and grandsons Tanner Lee Barnes and Jeremy Kildow, great-grandsons Yahya Sefraoui, Kamil Sefraoui.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Waxahachie Civic Center. Interment will follow at Hughes Cemetery, Avalon, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
