Kenneth, I have his baby book and his middle name given in the baby book is Steward. I know the obituary gives it as Stonewall but I found in the Census that his name was also Steward as well.
Thanks!
Mary

William Stonewall “Bill” Duke, age 93, slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family and the wonderful caregivers that have become family, after a lengthy battle with Father Time.

Bill was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 30, 1923 to Leslie and Lucy Mae (Preibe) Duke. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended Texas Tech University until joining the United States Marines to proudly serve his country during WWII, and was discharged as a Gunnery Sergeant in 1945.

Bill founded Duke Concrete Construction Company and enjoyed a lifetime in the construction industry until earning a degree in Ranch Management at TCU and “retiring” to raise Red Angus Cattle for another 25 years. He joined the Order of DeMolay at age 14 and remained active in Freemasonry as a member of Faith Masonic Lodge for over 65 years, and Maskat Shrine for over 50 years where he served as Potentate of Maskat in 1976. He was also a York Rite Mason and a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court #85. Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Shriners Burns Hospital in Galveston and was later recognized for aiding with work at the Shriners Burn Center for transporting many patients and their families there in his private plane. Bill was a Charter member of the Wichita Falls Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute and served as its President. He also presided over the North Texas Construction Employers Association in 1960. Bill began serving on the board of directors of the Individual Development Center in 1974 and served as its President in 1982 and 1983. He chaired the Board of Work Services Center in 1991 and was grateful to be able to help provide people with disabilities the opportunities to work and lead an independent lifestyle. One of his greatest joys was hosting these employees to fishing trips at his ranch in Baylor County. In the 90’s, Bill was recognized by the Downtown Rotary Club as Citizen of the Year.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clair Duke; and his daughter, Dale O’Dell Duke.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas Nash “Tommy” Duke and Elaine Schultz, and William Stonewall “Stoney” Duke; his grandchildren, Stephanie Johnston and Lucas “Luke” Duke and wife Misty; great-grandchildren, Jenna Boer and husband Kris, Cara Johnston, Will Johnston, Nash Duke, and Kennedy Dudley; and his daughter-in-law, Gretchen Metzner.
Special thanks to caregivers, Mona Dyer, Linda Clements, Debra Perkins, and Shauna and Ben Crow, and to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Fain Presbyterian Church followed by a family visitation. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
