Janice Kay Evans, 61, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

She was born August 9, 1955 in South Bend, a daughter of Edward & Lois (Schlarb) Stansbury, and was a graduate of LaVille High School.

Janice was united in marriage to Michael Stephen “Steve” Evans who passed away on September 30, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her father, Edward Stansbury; and her daughter, Tabbatha Lolmaugh on June 4, 2008.

Janice is survived by her mother, Lois Blachly of South Bend; the love of her life, Jim Donovan of South Bend; daughter, Elizabeth (Jacob) Waddups of South Bend; son, Jonathon Evans of South Bend; ten grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Joe) Weldy, Diana (Joseph) Blount and Linda Ferro, all of South Bend; and brothers, Jim (Christy) Stansbury of Elkhart and Jerry (Sonia) Stansbury of Shipshewana; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Janice was a bartender and co-owner of the Fire Rock Cafe in South Bend. She enjoyed boating, cook-outs and other outdoor activities as well as spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Janice will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 26, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Joseph Risinger will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Crumstown Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, November 25, 2016 in the funeral home.
