A Christian burial Mass will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007, at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Boyd.
Friends and family may call on Sunday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Chapel in Stanley, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. rosary.
Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Amelia was born June 7, 1923, in the town of Delmar, Stanley, Wis., the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Mahal) Wundrow. She grew up in the Stanley area, and attended area schools. She was united in marriage to Raymond Geist on June 12, 1941, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stanley, and lived and farmed in the town of Delmar for many years. Amelia was a long-time member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, and also a member of the ladies aide society. Besides her love for her family, Amelia also enjoyed embroidering, playing cards and especially having family get-togethers.
Amelia is survived by her children, Beverly Tucker of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Judy (Ronald) Romanowski of Gilman, Nancy Brocar of De Plaines, Ill., Donna (Ronald) Campbell of New Holstein, Bernard Geist of Holcombe, Deborah (Rod) Porath of Loyal, Mary (Damis) Morgal of Cadott, Dale (Marie) Geist of Whitefish, Mon., Vernon (Bonnie) Geist of Countryside, Ill., Mark Geist of Stanley, Rick (Dawn) Geist of Kirkland, Ill., Kathy Geist of Mesa, Ariz., and Jacquelyn (Daniel) Glander of Luxemburg, Wis., 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Angeline Janssen and Janice Guyette; and one brother, Norman Wundrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, in 1990; one son, Timothy, in 1976; and one daughter, Barbara, in infancy in 1950; one brother, Arnold Wundrow, in 1991; two sisters, Alvina Romanowski and Rozella "Dolly" Mahr; and one son-in-law, Basil Tucker.
