He served in the U.S Army from 1963-1965.
He moved to Oregon in 1966, where he worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Herman and Elizabeth Kraft, brothers Clarence, Jacob and Deroy Kraft.
He is survived by his brother Elden Kraft, sister Marlene Hust and brother LaVaine Kraft as well as his two children Jeannette Friesen and Clayton Kraft Jr.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel. Pot luck will follow at 1 p.m., at the VFW Post 6774 in the Billings Heights.
