Melvin C. Orr, 58, of 310 E. 34th, died at the home. He was born in Junction City, Kan., and had lived in this area 12 years. Mr. Orr was a desk clerk at Midwest Hotel 3 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Fraas Fain Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Independence. He was a Catholic. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Betty Orr of the home; three sons, Ronald Orr, Raymond Orr, and Russell Orr; two daughters, Ms. Ellen Orr and Ms. Rebecca Orr, all of Hayes, Kan.; a stepson, Carl Hill, Kansas City; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carolyn Wright, Orrick, Mo., and Mrs. Patti Gribin, and Mrs. Kim Dowell, Kansas City; and ten grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Earp Truman Road Chapel; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
