Willie had never made a profession of religion until a few days before his death. His mother reached him the day before he passed away and said he gave evidence of being saved. Thus, their hearts were comforted in the midst of their great affliction.
The body was brought back to Maquoketa for burial and services were held in the F. M. Church of that place, conducted by the writer, who used the text 1 Samuel20:3. (C. W. Carners)
