Waltham – Mrs. Margaret Ardelle (Martin) Waickwicz died at home with family at her side on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was 98.
Margaret was born September 5, 1918 in Waltham a daughter of the late Stanley and Shirley Maude (Burhoe) Martin. Raised and educated in Waltham she was a graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1936. Sadly, she was widowed at a young age when her husband, Daniel J. Waickwicz died on April 14, 1955 at the age of 36.
She worked for over 30 years as the housing selection clerk for the housing authority for the City of Waltham.
Margaret was an active member of Beth Eden Baptist Church where she was the second of five generations of family to belong. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed reading. Time spent with her family was something she loved either at their home in Waltham or in Seabrook, New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Daniel she is predeceased by their infant son, Peter and her brother, Robert Burhoe Martin.
She leaves her daughter, Martha A. Richards and her husband, Garry, of Waltham; her grandchildren Lesley Richards and Matthew Richards; her great-grandchildren Taylor, Jordan, Eden and Lila.
Family and friends will honor and remember Margaret's life by gathering in Beth Eden Baptist Church, 84 Maple Street, Waltham on Saturday, November 26th where her Memorial Service will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Burial in Mount Feake Cemetery is private. There are no calling hours.
