Memorial services for Dr. James Church Blackwell, 84, of Centerville, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Centerville Church of Christ with Wayne Qualls officiating. Interment was held on Dec. 24, 2006 in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Centerville. Services were under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Dr. Blackwell died on Dec. 22, 2006 at Life Care of Centerville. He was born on Aug. 2, 1922 in Vernon. He was a dentist and a member and elder of Centerville Church of Christ.
Survivors include son, Tim Blackwell of Centerville; daughters, Linda Coffey of Atlanta, Ga., Yvonne Craig of Franklin, and Kitty Halfacre of Centerville; brother, Carlton Blackwell; sister, Lula Mae Prince of Centerville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Church and Annie Lee Betty Blackwell and wife, Bonnie Akins Blackwell.
