Alex J. Rucki, 67, of East Second Street, died Sunday at Oswego Hospital.

Born in East St. Louis, Ill., Mr. Rucki lived in Oswego for the past 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Before retiring in 1985, he had been a laborer for 40 years on area construction projects. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, American Legion Post 268, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 2320, Ancient Order of Hibernians and Laborers Local 214.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lois Mathewson; a sister, Feola Adderley of Troy, Mo.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dowdle Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Louis Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 154 E. Fourth Street.
