Thomas Anne Cain “Tommie” Horne, 81, widow of Orion Patrick “Pat” Horne, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her home. Born June 22, 1935 in Calhoun County, MS, Tommie is the daughter of the late Giles Fred Cain and Oma May Leachman Cain.
Tommie was a graduate of Bruce High School in Calhoun, MS. Living in Memphis, TN and spent 37 years in Owensboro, KY. In 1996 she and her husband Pat moved to Lawrenceburg to be near their grandchildren. Tommie formerly worked as an accounts receivable bookkeeper for a men’s clothing store, an insurance clerk for a bank and insurance firm in Memphis, TN, as a clerical teacher’s aide in the Owensboro City School System and later as a receptionist at Owensboro High School. A current member of the Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, Tommie formerly was a member, deacon and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro.
Tommie is survived by two children, Alicia May Bloomfield and her husband Ronald and Patrick Alan Horne and his wife Charity of Denison, TX; three grandchildren, Christine Emily “Christy” May and Rebecca Anne “Becky” May, both of Lexington, and Benjamin Patrick “Ben” May of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Mary Sue Cain Powell of Memphis, TN, Patsy Cain Patterson of Banner, MS; and a brother, Louie Fredrick (Nell) Cain of Bruce, MS. Along with her husband and parents, Tommie was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Maxine Cain and Catherine Cain Hipp.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 22nd beginning at 2:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. Erroll Archenson officiating. A private family burial of the cremains will follow the services. Visitation will precede the service on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
