Fred "Freddie Williams" Avant

Fred Avant was born on Feb. 8, 1930 to the late Columbus and Flossie Andrews Avant in Evergreen, North Carolina.
Fred Avant was affectionately known to his family and friends as “Freddie Williams”. He was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1958 coming from Evergreen, North Carolina. Mr. Avant also served in United States Army as a Corporal and the Korean War. After retiring from the army he was employed as a plant supervisor for Tree Sweet Company. He was a a member of Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church.
On Friday, November 11, 2016, Fred Avant closed his eyes in a peaceful slumber at the St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister; Mozell Avant Lukus.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Hazel Mae Avant of Fort Pierce, Florida; Sons: Jimmy Avant, Jerry Avant, Tony (Debbie) Avant and Gary Avant; Daughter: Rosa Avant; Brothers: Izear (Martha) Avant and Paul (Odessa) Avant; Sisters: Marlene Avant Hadden, Lacy Avant Golphin and Angerlon (Gene) Avant Simmons; Grandchildren-15 and Great Grandchildren-5; Brother-n-law: Willie Gene Simmons and Sister-n-laws: Martha Avant and Odessa Avant, Best-friends: Izaer Avant, Mr. George and Mr. Jones.
