After Martha died in the 1890's, and in the early 1900's, Charles was moved into the County Poor Farm, 5 miles northeast of Richmond. In April 1910, he was moved into the County Home in western Richmond. He died there a few months later, on Thanksgiving.
He was survived, by his daughter, Lucy Luellyn. His son, Charley, died a year prior. He was also survived by a sister, Mollie Davis of Richmond, and a brother, Robert A. Ford of near Lawson.
