August Henry Caillouette was born on March 17, 1878 in Illinois, and he was the son of Thomas Caillouette (1843–1886) and Emma (Lemieux) Caillouette (1846–1885).

He was married in early 1900 to Mary Joyce (ca 1872-1936), and she was the daughter of Richard Joyce and Mary (Mogan) Joyce (parents listed as born in Ireland).

A blacksmith for L&N Railroad and living at 1207 Demonbreun Street, Nashville, he was 54 years old and married when he died on January 29, 1933 at Saint Thomas Infirmary. Burial was two days later in Calvary Cemetery.
