Iva was born the fourth of nine children to George Albert and Christine (Frandsen) Day. She married Heber LeRoy (Roy) Albiston on 14 June 1923 in Logan, Cache, Utah. They had one son and one daughter. Their son, Roy Seth (Seth) Albiston was killed in WWII at the age of 19.
