Joseph F. Andrescavage of West Bristol died peacefully Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at home. He was 89.

Born in New Philadelphia, Pa., he is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Catherine (Taffe) Andrescavage; and his devoted children, Joseph Andrescavage Jr. and his wife, Denise, Daniel Andrescavage and his wife, Debra, and Karen Jahoda and her husband, John. He also is survived by his four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He retired after more than 30 years at General Motors in West Trenton, N.J., from the engineering department.

Joe was an avid fisherman, and owned a boat at the Jersey shore for many years. He loved painting and woodcarving. He also enjoyed cooking, and was the chef for weekly family dinners and holidays, all of which were special times.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St., Bristol. Private interment will follow in the Bristol Cemetery, Bristol.
