Cpl James David Barr was a member of the Army, CPL Barr served our country until March 18th, 1968 in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that James died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a land mine. His body was recovered. CPL Barr is on panel 45E, line 017 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.
He was the son of Mr and Mrs Paul Barr, Box 62, Carthage, NC.
He served with Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, "The Rock", 173rd Airborne Brigade, USARV.
He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
