NORTHEAST PARKE.
Waveland Independent.
Mrs. K. Staggs died at the home of her son, Abe Staggs, near Byron, last Sunday morning. Her death is attributed solely to old age. Her exact age is not know, but she was believed to be almost if not quite 100 years old. Certain it is that she was one of the oldest residents of Parke county, and the memory of people of that neighborhood runs not to the time when she was not known as "Aunt Kizzie." She had not been sick, and some time in the night she got up and lighted her pipe for a smoke, and again retired, and when the other members of the family got up Sunday morning the old lady was found dead in her bed.
She came from Kentucky with the first settlers of Parke county, and had never been far from home since.
