A. J. Harkins, age 92, of Smyrna, passed away November 8, 2016. Funeral services were held at Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with Rev. Cecil Dutton officiating. Interment was in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
Mr. Harkins had been a longtime resident of Smyrna and had worked for General Motors for over 40 years before retiring. He was a longtime member and Deacon of Second Baptist Church in Smyrna.
He was preceded in death by brothers, sisters and a granddaughter. Surviving are his wife of over 65 years LaVerne Harkins of Smyrna; daughters Angela (Bee) Jay of Marietta and Yvonne Harkins (James) Hogan of Roswell; four nephews; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
