Florence was the daughter of Josie Evert and Lillie Ethel (Cohoon) Longsdorff. She married William Franklin Berry on 18 Jun 1942 at the Maroa Christian Church in Maroa, Macon county, Illinois. She was a PE teacher at the local High School and taught swimming in the summers at her pool on the farm. Athletic all her life, she participated in and won many medals at Senior Olymypics. Florence and Bill had three boys, John Mac (married Nancy Kay Blazer), an infant, and David Joe Berry (married Kathy Lynn Welker).
