Bernice E. Barnett, 77, of the Bear Creek area, died May 11, 1984 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at Winterset.
Mrs. Barnett was born on October 12,1 906 to Lavinia and Harrold Vane Mapes of rural Winterset. She graduated from Earlham High School in 1924 and was a nursing graduate of Lutheran Hospital at Des Moines.
She was married to Clyde A. Barnett on June 13, 1931. They spent their entire married life in the Bear Creek area. Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Bear Creek Friends Church.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; two brothers, Walter Mapes and Francis Mapes, both of Earlham; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
