Father of Piper and Liam ElsberryAdam Elsberry, 27, of Gowrie, IA passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Adam was was born in Fort Dodge on April 10, 1989 to Bart and Tami (Kuester) Elsberry. Adam made his home in Gowrie, IA with his loving wife Molly Elsberry and their two children Piper and Liam. Adam enjoyed working in the family business doing roofing and construction work. Adam had an entrepreneurial spirit and started his own business PALM Services a small construction company.

Adam loved spending time with his family going mushroom hunting and camping. He and Molly also spent a significant amount of time with their extended families. Adam was known for his witty sense of humor and his ability to connect with people.

Adam is survived by his wife Molly and two children Piper and Liam; his parents Bart (Carolyn) Elsberry and Tami (Scott) Kuester; his siblings Ed (Megan) Elsberry, Lindsey (Lane) Bork, Cody (Arrin) Lura, Sammi (Kylan) Lura and Blake (April) Lura, Cory (Kiersten) Kuester, Ryan (Jess) Kuester, Jaydon (Arien Rodemaker) Kuester and Ross (Emili) Kuester; his grandparents Letha Elsberry, Shelby and Donna Hill, numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Norm Elsberry; his uncle Kerry Anderson and his cousins Jeff Clark and Jacob Rautanen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family for Piper and Liam’s college fund.

Fatal Crash on Kenyon Road this Morning

The Iowa State Patrol has released more information regarding the crash that occurred near the hospital today. According to Sgt. Aaron Smidt, around 2 this morning, a pickup driven by 27-year-old Adam Elsberry, of Gowrie, failed to negotiate a curve on Kenyon road and crossed the center line. The truck then stuck a curb, entered a grassy area and rolled through a tree line. The truck came to rest on the railroad tracks. Around 0730, a train conductor spotted the truck and called 911. Elsberry was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster County Medical Examiner’s Office. The accident remains under investigation.
