Obituary for Wanda Smythe

Wanda Lee Smythe was born on June 11, 2017 to Willie and Vick Lindsey. She went to her heavenly home on August 17, 2018. She was 91 years old and had lived the last three years of her life with family in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Wanda enjoyed an early career as a switchboard operator, before marrying Roland Neil Smythe after World War II. She and Neil enjoyed a long marriage. They conceived two sons, Kelly and Kevin. The family enjoyed frequent travel across the globe due to Neil's position with American Airlines. Their sons were instilled with a heart to serve; Kelly was a Tulsa police officer and Kevin became the Chief of Freedom Hill Fire Department.

Wanda supported many service and charity organizations, including the Fraternal Order of Police, who supported Wanda after Kelly's death in the line of service in 1982. Wanda has enjoyed time with her son, grandsons and their children throughout her twilight years, as well as time spent birdwatching out her kitchen window.

She is survived by son, Kevin and his wife Carolyn, grandsons and spouses Timothy and Barbara, and Robert and Misty and numerous grandchildren, Bree, Talmadge, Lainey, Harley, Lexi, Charlea, Jessica, Emma and Tyler.
