“Mrs. Elizabeth Broaddus, wife of Jefferson Broaddus of West Jackson Street, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Reynolds, on East Clay Street at 7:30 Tuesday evening of a general breakdown in health.
She was sixty-nine years old. She was born in Kentucky and came to Chillicothe at the close of the Civil War, where she had since resided. Mrs. Broaddus had been in poor health for the past seven years and had been practically helpless the past year, being unable to turn herself in bed without being assisted. She was a member of the Christian church and a woman of estimable character, whose life had been one of devotion and service to her family and friends.
Mrs. Broaddus is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Frank Reynolds and Will of this city and Ebb Broaddus, who is in the west.
Funeral will take place from the Reynolds home Thursday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. Crutcher officiating. Burial will be made in Edgewood Cemetery.” The Chillicothe Constitution, February 8, 1906
