Edward L. Burd, age seventy-one years, died unexpectedly Friday afternon at his home on Greensburg Street in this city. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hodgenville. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Corum Burd, and two sons, Rev. Charles Edward Burd, of Boulder, Colorado, and William Mitchell Burd of Reseda, California. The body was at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home here until the funeral Monday at the First Baptist Church. Interment was in Red Hill Cemetery here.
