Lloyd A. Bishop, 73, of Raceland, Ky., passed away Friday, November 4, 2016, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Lloyd was born August 20, 1943, to the late John James and Maryann Preston Bishop.

Lloyd was a member of Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church in Grayson, an Army Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Louisville American Legion. Lloyd retired from AK Steel Coke Plant.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Bailey.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Thelma Lunsford Bishop of Raceland, his two sons and their spouses, Tom and his wife Patty of Flatwoods, Ky., and Shane and his wife Selina of Grayson, Ky. Also surviving are his sisters, Herma Brown of South Point, OH., and Janet Dickess of Coalgrove, OH., and his two grandchildren, Tyler and Tori Bishop.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, by Pastor Grant Sammons, at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will follow services in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast with Military Rites by Ironton VFW Post # 8850.
