Perry Joe Kirklen beloved husband, father, and friend passed away November 1, 2016 to join our Lord and Savior at the age of 86.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Perry was born November 19, 1929 to William and Margie Kirklen in Brady, Texas.

He was married for fifty-one years to Mary Helen Kirklen and they have seven children together. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Kirklen in 1986 and his wife in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Perry served in the United States Army for eleven years, with distinguished service during the Korean War.

He was a successful business man operating multiple small businesses for forty-five years in Odessa.

He loved fishing, horse racing, Dallas Cowboy football and country music.

He is survived by his sons, Mark and Perry Kirklen of Big Spring as well as four daughters: Patsy Stokes, Linda Brunson, Jane Robbins and Wanda Kirklen. He has three grandchildren: Christine Brunson, William Kirklen and Brian Stokes.

We will miss his wisdom, patience, honesty and mental toughness.

As a Christian he believed in seeking the truth and living the truth.

Indeed, he will be missed by his family and friends.
