Julie Anne Cain, 36, of Sweetser, went to be with Jesus with a smile on her face at her parents' home with her family surrounding her at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

She was born in Marion, IN on May 15, 1980 to Sid and Betty (Cook) Richey.

She married her grade school friend, then best friend and love of her life, Nicholas B. Cain, on September 11, 2004, and together they had two beautiful sons, Ethan and Evan.  All 3 were the love of her life, and they survive.

She graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1998 and went on to attend Purdue University and graduated from there with a Bachelor's degree in 2002.  Julie began working at First Farmer's Bank and Trust in Converse, IN in 1997 in a School to Work program.  After graduation from college, Julie continued her career at First Farmers in marketing and worked her way to Administration.

She asked Jesus into her heart at the tender age of 8.  She was baptized and joined Liberty Baptist Church as a young girl.  Through the years, Julie was involved in youth group and went on a mission trip to Mexico.  As an adult, Julie worked in the AWANA program at church.  For many years you would find her working with children, kindergarten through 2nd grade, teaching them Bible verses and praying with them.  She will be greatly missed.

Julie loved and cherished spending time with her family.  She enjoyed traveling, including cruises, Disney World, and her time at Lake Webster with family and friends.

Anyone that knew Julie understood she was a loving, hardworking, strong young woman.  After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she never gave up and never once complained of the pain.  She endured several surgeries and numerous types of treatment, but through all of this she refused to let cancer define her.  She kept her faith in Jesus Christ, a positive attitude, and was an inspiration to others.  She always put her Faith and Family first above all.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Rathi Mahendran and the staff at the Marion Cancer Care for all of their compassionate care.

In addition to Nic, her husband of 12 years, she will be missed by her two sons:  Ethan Nicholas Cain and Evan Andrew Cain;  Father and mother:  Sid and Betty Richey;  Sisters:  Paula (Aaron) McMillan, Montpelier, Amy (Adam) Tohulka, Elkhart; Nieces and nephews:  Matthew McMillan, Katelyn McMillan, Jonathan McMillan, David McMillan, Addison Tohulka and Ashlyn Tohulka;  Father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Bob and Tammy Bellinotti; Brother-in-law:  Neno Bellinotti, and sister-in-law:  Mary (Corey) Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Dallas and Esther Richey and Edgar and Mary Cook.

Family and friends may visit, Monday, November 7th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church Street in Sweetser, IN.  A service to celebrate Julie's life will be Tuesday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. also at Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church Street, Sweetser IN with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.  Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park cemetery following the service.

Preferred memorials:  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Liberty Baptist Church, P.O. Box 289, Sweetser, IN 46987 or to a future education fund for Ethan and Evan Cain in care of First Farmers Bank and Trust, 123 N. Jefferson St., Converse, IN 46919.
