Curtis V. Adams, 70, a broker for the Earl Stowe Real Estate Co, the past six years died Sunday in his home, 5039 N. 23rd Ave. Mr. Adams was a former member of the Board of Realtors in Tempe, a member of the Masonic Lodge and Grand Canyon Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, both in Flagstaff. He came to Flagstaff in 1946 from Minneapolis and operated the Monte Vista Hotel Coffee Shop before moving to Phoenix in 1953. Born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, he opened the first B and G Sandwich Shop in Kansas City, considered the nation's third largest sandwich shop for 30 years. He was a past royal patron of the Order of Amaranth and Baptist Church member. Services will be Thursday in Bethany Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Edith; a son Charles of Redwood City, California; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Schwartz of Phoenix; two brothers and three sisters out of state; and three grandchildren. - Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Tuesday December 10, 1968 p. 15.
