Max "Butch" Allen Bennett, June 14, 1950 to November 27, 2013. "My Angel Daddy" A man so strong, but a heart so wide A pride so great, but eyes that still cried A voice so stern and hands so rough Yet, still wrapped me in his arms and held me no matter how tough. A wounded body, A tired soul, and yet he still gave it his all The weight of the world on his shoulders, but he never let us fall. He worked hard for every penny, yet still willing to give his last dime The anger and disappointment in every mistake we made, but still waiting to pick us up each and every time. He never stopped fighting for his family, strong til the end My loving father, my daddy, my lifelong best friend. The little laughs and corny jokes he always told The hugs and kisses that he would never let us get to old Every Christmas you made a miracle A long with each and every holiday How can I go on this year with you gone away? Stubborn and set in the ways from so many crosses you had to bear But you never doubted his love or his faith to be there. My heart breaks from each and every tear you shed Knowing the broken body you left for a pair of new wings instead. I close my eyes and I see you running, walking, smiling, "Oh to be pain-free" But a life without you is something I can't see I hope you fly high in the sky, walk with both feet sifting in the Panama sand, Drive fast on the Indy and get to finally tell Dale hey, These are all the things you loved and hoped you would get to do someday. To go back and bounce upon your knee To be the little girl in pigtails you said I would always be You said my baby blue eyes were not meant for crying, but how do I dry them now? With your new angel wings, can you still wrap them around me somehow? My angel daddy from heaven up above Each and every day I send you my love My angel daddy, with your new wings, as you fly by Make sure and watch over mommy as these lonely days go by. My angel daddy who I hold deep in my heart I know that you are still within me and we could really never part. You are the air I breathe, the sunshine that shines so bright, You are my hero, my strength, my forever guiding light. Love Forever From Your Little Girl, Tammy Reed, RN. Dad carried his pride and strength until 64 years of age and will always call Walker/Denham Springs his home. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family and loved ones. For all that knew him, couldn't help but love him. He will join in rest with his parents and other siblings. A private ceremony to lay him to rest for his eternal peace will be Sunday, December 15, 2013 in the Greensburg Cemetery.
