Donna Bickett, 86 from Oldham, SD died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Madison, SD. Donna Jean Johnson was born March 24, 1930 to Selmer and Ethel (Schaap) Johnson in Lake Co. SD.
She grew up on several area farms from Madison to Oldham. Donna graduated from Oldham High School in 1948. She married Stanley Bickett on June 20, 1948 at the Oldham Methodist Church in Oldham. SD.
Donna was a wife, mother and homemaker on the farm southwest of Oldham until the fall of 1977 when she and Stanley moved into Oldham where they resided in an apartment and were care takers of the complex. Donna worked at the L & L Cafe before taking the job of head cook at the Oldham School for 21 years.
Donna was an active member of the Hustling House Wives Extension Club, Bridge Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Oldham City Cemetery Association and was a member of the Oldham Methodist Church.
Donna is survived by one daughter, Susan (Rick) Soma of Oldham, SD, two sons, Mike (Connie) Bickett of Oldham, SD and Paul Bickett of Arlington, SD, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley in 2003, a son Terry in 2011, four brothers, Virgil, Kenneth, Ronald and Merle, two sisters Arvella and Maxine.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bickett will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Oldham Lutheran Church with Pastor Joanne Nagele officiating, burial will be in the Oldham City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in the church and preceding services on Wednesday.
