Mrs. Sally Jeanette Davis, 77, Gadsden, died yesterday after an illness of one year. Funeral service will be Monday at Cox Funeral Home and burial in Forrest Cemetery. Survivors, two sons, R.L. Davis and Fred Davis both of Gadsden; three brothers, R.F. Hood, Albertville; H.V. Hood, Collinsville; T.T. Hood, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. O.E. Owen, Sr., Ft. Payne; Mrs. Carl Farlow, Birmingham; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Davis was a Methodist, member of Eastern Star and Daughters of America. Excerpts published in The Gadsden Times, Saturday, Dec. 24, 1960.

Sally Hood was a daughter of James Milton "Jim" Hood and Mary Ellen Hale Hood. Sally's sisters were Kittie L. Owen and Margaret Farlow. Her brothers were Albert Watson Davis, Heath Vernon Davis, Rufus Floyd Davis, Thomas Tolbert Davis, and Robert L. Davis. She also had two infant siblings buried in the same cemetery with their parents.

Sally Jeanette Hood married Reuben Arthur Davis.
